Road Test Requirements

Who qualifies?

You qualify *IF* you meet all of the criteria below and can provide all required documentation.

 

What do I need to do?

Sign up to take your road test with us at Silverlake Driving School.  Call us at 281-485-2811 and we’ll put you on the schedule.

 

What are the testing requirements

Requirements vary from teenagers to adults, so please check for your applicable age category below:

Teens  

Teens who attended a driving school :

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Valid DE964 Driver Education Certificate
  • Valid driver’s permit held for a minimum of six months (expiration date of 6-month provisional hold can be found on back of permit)
  • 30 Hour Parent Driving Practice Log
  • Car insurance card
  • Social Security card or Birth Certificate
  • VOE (Verification of Enrollment)  – Valid only for 30 days –
  • Impact Texas Teens:  Certificate of Completion – valid for 90 days (state required viewing of a 2 hour video)

 

Teens who are parent taught:

  • Must be 16 years of age
  • Valid driver’s permit held for a minimum of six months (expiration date of 6-month provisional hold can be found on back of permit) 
  • Valid DE964 Certificate
    • Must have the following three dates filled in prior to testing:
      • Classroom
      • Laboratory
      • 30 hour practice dates
    • Instructor’s signature in 2 places & their driver’s license filled in
    • Valid driver’s permit held for a minimum of six months (expiration date of 6-month provisional hold can be found on back of permit) 
  • Logs
  • Car insurance card
  • Social Security card or Birth Certificate
  • VOE (Verification of Enrollment) – Valid only for 30 days –
  • Impact Texas Teens:  Certificate of Completion – valid for 90 days (state required viewing of a 2 hour video)

 

ADULTS

    18-24 years of age

     25 years of age or older
